Will I Dream During The Process? (SO 005, 2006)

Biography:

In the early nineties the German Basic Channel label laid the foundation of a whole new musical direction, which can be described as very minimal with a focus on heavy beats. Many fans would rather describe this music as a 'feeling', than as the usual electronic listening music experience Later on, Wolfgang Voight gave the minimal sound of Basic Channel an upgrade with his Gas project. His mixture of orchestral strings and massive 4/4 beats were very impressive.

Inspired by the aforementioned artists, the Icelandic producer Yagya (Aalsteinn Gumundsson) released his wonderful (and now much sought after) debut ‘Rhythm Of Snow’ in the year 2002 on the currently defunct German Force Inc label. There was a lot of talk about the album, due to its extremely high quality. Although he released just one album, Yagya managed to become a popular and important key-player in the minimal/deep house scene.

We are very proud to announce his second full-length, titled 'Will I dream During The Process?' on Sending Orbs. It is absolutely one of the most anticipated releases of the year; people have been waiting for it since 2002. With his new album Yagya returns to the minimal/deep house style of his debut, but obviously he developed his personal style even more. Like us, you will hopefully be astonished by the sensuality, feeling of depth, the sense of detail, and emotion of the tracks.

Like Basic Channel and Wolfgang Voight, Yagya is a master in creating music that is not from this world. All the different layers in his music, the moods, the atmospheres and the hypnotizing beats will put the listener in a dreamlike state and persuade you in a gentle way not to push the stop button. His album has a powerful attraction, which the listener can’t resist. The only thing that you have to do now is to listen. We can assure you, you will dream during the process…

Afterwards, we hope you agree with us: it was worth waiting for.
