Review:

The fifth release of the Sending Orbs label is another masterpiece by Kettel. With his “Through Friendly Waters” Reimer Eising put this young, enthusiastic electronica label on the map. With “My Dogan” he gets another chance to present us with one of his intelligent creations. “My Dogan” can be seen as a combination of “Volleyed Iron”(2004) and “Through Friendly Waters”. So, one can expect a very varied album, with a lot of pleasant, delightful ambient and a couple of intelligent, melodic uptempo songs. The tracks are perfectly mixed and overflow in such a way that sometimes you can’t really tell when one track ends and the other begins. Because of this, “My Dogan” is a very pleasant album to listen to as a whole.

Beautiful danceable tunes like ‘My Dogan’, ‘Mauerbrecher’, ‘Follow Me!, ‘Sekt I Sing’ and ‘The Second 2006’ are very nicely alternated with sometimes very short and sometimes long spun out ambient pieces. Delightful tracks of the latter kind are: ‘Halt Him’, ‘Peeksje 1994’, ‘Choo Choo ’ and ‘He’s His Own Man’.

With this latest release Reimer Eising seems to have found the perfect selection of his tracks. He seems to know precisely when it is time for a somewhat calmer song or when the listener has to be stirred up again with a intelligent and mathematical correct rhythmical masterpiece. Delightful, the way this album ends with a quarter of an hour of spherical ambient. There’s some for everyone on this album and one could say that “My Dogan” gives us the perfect overview of all Reimer Eising can do with his Kettel project. And I am very curious as to what this young electronica master will be coming up with in the following years.

Another eminent release by the young Sending Orbs label that takes a prominent place in the crowded world of electronica with these kinds of products.
